Talenira ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our nutrition tracking application.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

Account Information: Name, email address, and password when you create an account.
Profile Data: Age, sex, height, weight, activity level, dietary preferences, and health goals.
Nutrition Data: Food logs, meal entries, barcode scans, photos of nutrition labels, custom food submissions, meal plans, and recipes.
Sensitive Health Data: Health conditions, medications you record, supplements and the vitamins & minerals you track, lab results you upload, body measurements, weight tracking, fitness and workout activity, and (where you choose to provide it) reproductive or life-stage information such as pregnancy, breastfeeding, or postpartum status.
Consent Records: The date and version of the Terms, Privacy Policy, and disclaimers you agreed to, and your opt-in to health-data processing.
Communications: Messages you send through the Talenira Coach feature.

Some of this is "special category" health data. We only collect and process it after you give explicit consent during setup, and you can withdraw that consent or delete your data at any time (see Section 7).

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

Usage Data: Feature usage patterns, session duration, and interaction data.
Device Information: Browser type, device type, operating system, and timezone.
Cookies: Session cookies for authentication and preference storage (see our Cookie Policy).

3. How We Use Your Information

Provide and maintain the Talenira service.
Calculate personalized nutrition targets and generate AI-powered insights.
Track your nutrition progress and generate reports.
Improve our food database and AI recommendations.
Communicate service updates and respond to support requests.
Ensure security and prevent fraud.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only in these circumstances:

AI Processing: Relevant data -- which may include your food logs, supplements, vitamins & minerals, lab results, fitness activity, and health context -- is sent to AI services to generate personalized recommendations. This data is not stored by third-party AI providers beyond processing, and is not used to train their models.
Service Providers: Trusted providers who assist in operating our service (hosting, analytics), bound by confidentiality agreements.
Legal Requirements: When required by law, regulation, or legal process.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL), secure password hashing, and access controls. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Your Data, or by contacting us. Some data may be retained in anonymized form for analytics purposes.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your data.
Export your data in a portable format.
Withdraw consent for data processing.

You can export a full copy of your data or permanently delete your account and all associated data yourself, at any time, from Settings → Your Data.

8. Children's Privacy

Talenira is not intended for users under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email.
